Final Production Details

After many weeks, we have finished planning our final production.

Story and Camera Angles:
  • A criminal runs from two police officers after murdering someone
  • A fast paced introduction to an action/thriller film
  • No dialogue to avoid the risk of sound issues
  • Many intense and interesting camera angles including wide shots, close-ups, and high angle shots

Location:
  • Wirral Way, West Kirby
  • This location is easy to reach for all of us as we all live quite close to it. There aren't many people around to interfere with filming and it is a great location for a chase scene. There are many places we can film from including paths with walls on either side, and bridges.

Costumes and Props:
  • Suits and hoodies
  • The two officers will wear suits to make them look official, while the criminal will wear a hoodie and jeans
  • Guns

Final Genre Choice

We have decided to make our final production an action/thriller chase scene. The reason behind our decision is that it works very well as the opening to a film as, if it is done well, it immediately draws the audience in and keeps them from leaving. It is also a great way to fit in lots of camera angles and shots due to the fast paced nature of a chase.

Storyboard and Shot Lists

Draft 1
This version of the storyboard only contains six panels, so it is not very detailed and there aren't many different shots. This means it is not very interesting, so we have decided not to use this version.

Draft 2
This version of our storyboard is much more detailed and interesting than the previous one. There are a number of camera angles and shots used, but we didn't like the way we ended it, so we decided to make another draft.

Draft 3
This is a modified version of the second storyboard draft. It is just as detailed and interesting, but has a few differences that allowed for more shot types and we preferred the way it ended. This is the storyboard we have decided to use.

Audience Survey Results

Based on the results of my survey, I will be making a film aimed at 16 - 20 year old men. The most popular genres are action, sci-fi and comedy. I have decided to make an action based film as that is the easiest one to make in the time we have with the equipment we have. Although nobody selected it in the survey, my final production is going to contain a chase scene as they allow for many different camera angles and it also fits with the genre of action.
